Someone may have already diaried this, but if not, here's the story. The first female to run on a major national political ticket in the USA, died this morning at Massachusetts General Hospital while surrounded by family. She died due to complications from multiple myeloma, a cancer of the blood with which she battled for 12 years. NBC News has the article:
